Not many people were impressed by the BlackBerry PlayBook at the announcement ceremony of the device. But, almost all of them found the final product appealing.
You will like a lot of things about this 7-inch tablet, especially if you are someone who is working for a business organisation committed to BlackBerry smart phones. The device’s hardware feels awesome and the performance is good as well. The OS is also easy to figure out.
It’s also good for web browsing, as the screen size is comfortable and the pages load super fast. There is so much potential in this tablet that I can't help feeling disappointed in RIM's inability to market and launch a product successfully. I mean let's get real here, the PlayBook is a terrific tab but there's no way it should have been priced at 500+ and set to compete against the ipad. These to facts in itself are have doomed what I consider to be a stellar product to marginal success.
In any case, I will use this as my premier business tool for 2012 as I am a hardcore blackberry user and the bridging feature is awesome. Also, with the release of OS 2.0 in Feb, I will once again have access to the Android Market place to download some of the favourite apps I already use on my Acer Tab.
With the ever growing tablet market heating up for 2012, it should be interesting to see how the PlayBook fairs with the rest of the competition going forward.
For my review I give it a solid 8/10!
