Smartphone makers are clever enough to make devices with larger screens and fancy fingerprint sensors. Yet, so far, very few have figured out how to create a smartphone battery that lasts more than a day (maybe two if you never use your phone).
StoreDot built a prototype smartphone charger that will charge your device in 30 seconds. In a video posted to YouTube, StoreDot takes a Samsung Galaxy smartphone at 27% of its battery life and fully charges the device in a half-minute.
The company unveiled the device, which is currently the size of a laptop charger, at Microsoft's Think Next conference in Tel Aviv, the Wall Street Journal reports.
StoreDot says it's working on shrinking the size of the charger, which could cost about $30 when it hits stores. The report says StoreDot will start commercial production in late 2016.
