Yahoo’s Recently Acquired Task Tracking Service Astrid Will Go Dark On August 5

I like tasks and to-do lists to keep myself organized. I've been using MS Outlook Exchange for a long time for both work and personal tasks. However, it's recently started to annoy me that I couldn't replicate these tasks across all my mobile devices (WP8 Phone, iPad Mini, Android tablets) because the Exchange tasks only exist on my corporate email account.

So I started researching apps that could handle my tasks elegantly and span said platforms effortlessly.  There are many apps that can do this but not all of them do it well. I started out with 'Any.do' on my Android tab and thought I had a winner until I launched it on my iPad. This app is only optimized for the iPhone and looks like crap on the iPad.

I then switched to 'Astrid' and I love this app as it works great on iOS, Android and the Web. The only problem is I joined the party too late as it's going dark on Aug 5th thanks to Yahoo. I thought about keeping it until then but decided why delay the inevitable, so I went back to the drawing board and discovered Wunderlist.

Wunderlist is awesome, the interface is consistent, the setup is simple and it works seamlessly across iOS, Android and the Web including downloadable apps for Windows and Mac. Plus, to make sure no to-do is forgotten or deadline missed, all you need to do is go to https://astrid.wunderlist.com, follow three incredibly easy steps and all your Astrid to-dos will be securely imported to Wunderlist. It even works if you don’t have an existing Wunderlist account.

I'm going to stick with Wunderlist for the foreseeable future as my main one stop platform for tasks and to-do lists. I can only hope that Apple or Google or some other massive Tech company doesn't swoop in and buy Wunderlist and screw up all my stuff!!

  1. Yahoo being a terrific internet giant acquired task tracking astrid. Seems like we will have extra influential features implemented in the software.

I am sure that's gonna be the perfect task tracking software in today's world.
